Summary |
At this moment of vulnerability and dislocation and time when racism and other oppressions are more apparent in our country, I offer this brief teaching by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, "Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. I can never be what I ought to be until you are what you ought to be. This is the interrelated structure of reality." Just as our Shema prayer calls us to unity, may we remember our interconnections in our society and world today and commit to the hard work of listening, change, and growth.
